*cue the fun FemTech Focus Podcast intro music*
The FemTech Focus Podcast with Dr. Brittany Barreto is a meaningfully provocative conversational series that brings femtech experts – including doctors, scientists, inventors, and founders – on air to talk about the innovative technology, services, and products. All the speakers featured advocate for the improvement of women’s health and wellness. Though many leaders in femtech are women, this podcast is not specifically about female founders, nor is it geared toward a specifically female audience. The podcast gives our host and FemTech Focus co-founder, Dr. Brittany Barreto, and guests an engagingenvironment to learn about the past, present, and future of women’s health and wellness.
If the introduction above doesn’t sound familiar to you, take it as a kind suggestion that you need to give the FemTech Focus Podcast a listen. Our podcast aims to spread awareness of the diverse range of women’s needs in health and wellness. The very first episode aired in March 2020. Since then, the podcast grew to have 45 published episodes, including two weekly episodes and monthly FemTech Friday bonus episodes, with one of them conducted in both English and Spanish.
Our host, Dr. Barreto has interviewed big names in femtech, namely Rachel Braun Scherl of SPARK Solutions for Growth, Jill Angelo of Gennev, and Dr. Amina Sugimoto of Fermata. Throughout each show, our guests bring stories of their own where they touch upon the many important parts of womxn’s health. We’ve seen episodes covering low libido to body-focused repetitive behaviors and menopause.
Why are women continuously being forgotten in research? How does this disease differ from women to men? What even is femtech?
All of these questions are only a few of many Dr. Barreto has come across throughout the podcast and gives listeners a wide range of answers to all things femtech. Like anything taboo, the FemTech Focus Podcast aims brings awareness to often overlooken women’s health needs. As Rachel Braun Scherl has once said to us, “In this industry, a ‘rising tide raises all boats’”. It is critical to continue to speak loudly, passionately, and thoughtfully about the needs and solutions for women’s health. FemTech Focus is an essential contributor to that conversation.”
After only six months since our first episode, we’ve grown our audience with 5,000+ downloads to date listeners worldwide from a range of 46 countries, solidifying the podcast as the #1 femtech podcast in the world. We hope to continue spreading and amplifying the voices of femtech globally.
